John and Michelle Cirone

Since summer 2008, John and Michelle Cirone have taken seven YOM summer mission teams to minister to and serve several local churches throughout Australia including missionaries Steven & Christy Maldoff (Mildura), Joe & Melissa Marshall (Brisbane), Jim & Becky Heberle (Outback/Aboriginal Communities), and Kyle & Jamie Sutton (Melbourne). God used this opportunity both in their lives and in the lives of their team members to give each of them a renewed vision of missions and the purpose of why God chooses to use each of us: to reach a lost and dying world for Christ and to come along side of and encourage Christians in their daily walk with him.

6In 2011, the Cirones began to pray about the possibility of bringing their entire family over to live in Australia for the summer so that the Maldoffs could take a short furlough to visit their supporting churches in the States.  In 2013, this prayer was answered with John having the opportunity to Pastor the Murray River Baptist Church along with their entire family pitching in throughout the summer.  With the Maldoffs leaving the church in 2014 to assume a leadership position with BIMI in Chattanooga and now with their church going through a transitional time, the Lord laid on the Cirones' hearts to live in Australia for the summer with John becoming the Interim Pastor of the Murray River Baptist Church and ministering along side of his wife and youngest son Zachary until Pastor Keith Foley assumed full-time pastoral duties in August 2014.  Since 2015, the Cirones again were able to take teams to serve several ministries in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Mildura, and Adelaide and are looking forward, if the Lord tarries, in taking several more additional trips throughout the coming years!

Throughout the years and especially after living in Australia for two consecutive summers, the Cirones have made many close friendships with several pastors and evangelists throughout Australia and particularly have developed a real love for the for the Australian people and culture as they treat Australia like their 2nd home.  They also desire so much to reach the Christian young people of Australia in not only encouraging them in their walk with Christ but also with presenting them the opportunity to learn more about Pensacola Christian College.
