Sunday, June 29, Life Gate Baptist Church (Mt. Gravatt, Brisbane)
On Sunday morning, we headed down to Mt. Gravatt to minister at Life Gate Baptist Church. It was such a blessing to again see our friends at Life Gate and particularly Pastor and Mrs. Zimmermann. The team had the opportunity to minister in several Sunday School classes, minister in the morning service through songs (Mattie and our team song), testimony (Kelina), and the preaching of God’s Word with Alex. After the morning service, our team was treated to a wonderful lunch hosted by the church as we had time to fellowship with several of the members. At 2:00 pm, we began our afternoon service again ministering through song (Ben and Christina), testimony (Ben), and the preaching of God’s Word by Andrew.
On a side note, it has been such a blessing to have Ben Jackey come up from Sydney to spend the entire week with us at camp. He is always a blessing to us (especially since he is driving our luggage cargo van) and our team is always an encouragement to him.
After Pastor Zimmermann (affectionately known as Pastor Zed as “Z” is pronounced in Australian English as “zed”) gave our team some lovely Australian gifts, we piled into our vans (12-passenger for our group and the cargo van for our luggage) and headed off to camp in Minden.
Although the team is still a little tired from their jetlag as well as still adjusting their bodies to the Aussie winter time, their spirits are high as they are doing a wonderful job ministering and serving others. Because we will be at camp and the camp schedule is quite busy for the next week (AND cell phone usage is limited), we will give you a summary of our week at the end of camp on Friday or Saturday.
