Thursday-Friday, July 10-11, Condell Park Bible Church/Bible Baptist Church (Condell Park/Prestons)
Andrew and Bella tag team this update previewing the last two days of our Holiday Kid’s Club and Youth Rally!
Andrew: G’day Mates! It’s Andrew here! Thursday was the third day of holiday kid’s club! We played more games, sang lots of songs, and cheered our voices away! For lunch, we went to Australian KFC, and Mattie went to lunch with a lady who is studying in a similar field. In the evening, we had an our final night of the youth rally at Bible Baptist Church! Josh and Kerri ran games, Bella gave her testimony, and Alex preached on Proverbs 24:26, on how to respond to failure. “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6
Bella: This morning was our last morning in Sydney! We packed our luggage and left for our last morning at Condell Park Holiday Kids Club. The last day was a blast! And a win from the underdogs — the green team Space Rangers!!! But most importantly, there were at least 6 professions of faith and many positive life decisions made at this kids club.
Afterwards, we stopped at Sneakie’s and ordered their famous pizza burger. We had great fellowship (especially with Ben Jackey), said goodbye to our new friends, and headed to the airport. At the airport, we had a lovely interaction with the airport police dogs. One of the officers asked if we could help them with a training run for their drug/money sniffing dogs. With all our luggage and extra time before our flight, we were glad to assist those who help serve and protect Australia. Unfortunately (or fortunately), their dogs were able to sniff out the extra trip money that we had in our money bag. The reward for the dog (or at least the police officers) is that we were able to give them a couple of “Good Question” tracts.
After we were assured that we were all upstanding American citizens, we then went to board our flight. We had a slight issue with getting our luggage to be accepted, but with persistence from the Cirones, we were right as rain and were able to proceed to our gate and board our flight.
Once we safely arrived in Melbourne, we loaded our van and headed to our apartments for the night. We successfully checked in and slept hard for our first night in Melbourne!
