Saturday/Sunday AM, July 19-20, Rose City Baptist Church (Benalla, Victoria)
On Saturday evening, we were able to spend some extra time with the Rose City Baptist Church young adults as we ate pizza, played some games, shared some testimonies, and finished with Josh sharing a devotional. Pastor Brenton and Olga Honeychurch are dear friends of the Cirones and stepped in a couple of years to fill the need for a Pastor at the country church. In just two years, they have done an outstanding job ministering and growing the church as we sensed the people really love and appreciate the Honeychurchs.
Bella shares her thoughts on our Sunday ministry…Our last day in Australia was one that will be forever remembered. We were blessed with a later start to our day, as there was no Sunday School because of their school break. We got a lovely breakfast at a bakery cafe with our new friends — Moni, Javan, Daniel, and Josiah, and our dear old friend and honorary team member — Ben Jackey.
After breakfast, we went to Rose City Baptist Church. Ben led songs and shared his testimony, Christina played the piano for the service and sang a special, Jaina also shared her testimony, the entire team sang a special, Alex lead the congregation in Scripture reading, and Andrew preached a message on trusting God and having faith in what He says and where He leads. Mattie, Kelina, and Alex ministered in children’s church during the service. After the service, we had a wonderful fellowship dinner with the congregation. Many good friends were made.
And then, our time came to an end. We had to say goodbye to those wonderful people that we had met. After many tears were shed, many pictures were taken, and promises to stay in touch were made, we got into our van and started the drive back to Melbourne to spend our last ministry opportunity with Josh Zacharias.
