Simeon and Brettnay Brazzell serve the Lord at Living Waters Baptist church along with their children, Eden, Knox, Ivy, Willow, and Flora. They arrived in Sydney, Australia, in January 2023 and, in October of that year, planted Living Waters in the heart of Parramatta. They have seen souls saved and baptized, and the gospel of Jesus Christ is changing lives. The city they serve has many ethnicities and cultures, which is reflected in their congregation. People from Australia, England, Peru, Colombia, China, and Spain add to the beautiful diversity amongst God’s people. Personal discipleship is at the heart of Pastor Simeon’s work, and the church is thankful for opportunities to invest personally into the lives of others. In a city where many false religions abound, the gospel light is shining!

Simeon was saved as a young child. He had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home where faithfulness to church was taught. As a teenager, Simeon surrendered his life to the Lord and felt the Lord calling him to preach. God put an interest in Australia on his heart, so he decided to pursue a missions degree at The Crown College of the Bible in Powell, TN. He graduated in 2014 with his bachelors in missions, and then in 2019 with a Masters of Ministry. Throughout that time, God developed an interest into a burden, and a burden into a calling.

In July 2014, Simeon and Brettnay were married. They knew that God desired for them to spend their future reaching souls in Australia. In 2016, they took a survey trip to the country and spent time in the greater Sydney area and Brisbane. That trip confirmed God’s calling on their life; Parramatta was the city He’d have them plant a church in. A year later, they began deputation. They were set to leave for the field in 2020. God had other plans. Australia was one of the last countries to open its borders after the pandemic, so the Brazzell family was not able to arrive until 2023. God’s timing is perfect, and they have seen that in so many ways as God has guided their family.

Australia has quickly become “home” for the Brazzell family and they love having the opportunity to serve the Lord in this part of the world. They are trusting the Lord for big things as they have a heart to see more churches planted all around the Sydney area.
